Explosion Proof 70 Watt Wall Mount Low Profile LED Light
Thank you for your purchase of the Larson Electronics EPL-LPBS-70LED series LED light. This light is completely
assembled, tested and ready for installation when shipped from the factory. Please follow the steps below in order to
operate and maintain this product.
IMPORTANT
READ CAREFULLY BEFORE OPERATING THIS LIGHT. SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS FOR FUTURE REFERENCE. IF UNSURE
ABOUT ANY PART OF THESE INSTRUCTIONS, CONSULT A QUALIFIED ELECTRICAL PROFESSIONAL. THE EPL-LPBS-70LED
MUST BE OPERATED IN ACCORDANCE WITH NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE AND ALL APPLICABLE LOCAL CODES. PROPER
GROUNDING IS REQUIRED FOR SAFETY.
FOR PERSONAL SAFETY, ALWAYS CONFIRM THE RATING OF ANY KNOWN HAZARDOUS OR POTENTIALLY HAZARDOUS
LOCATION WHERE THE LIGHT IS TO BE USED.
WARNING: OPERATE ONLY AT THE VOLTAGE LISTED ON THE PRODUCT LABEL.
WARNING: TO PREVENT IGNITION OF A HAZARDOUS ATMOSPHERE, THE SUPPLY CIRCUIT SHOULD BE DISCONNECTED
WHEN INSTALLING OR PERFORMING ANY MAINTENANCE ON THIS UNIT.
WARNING: WHEN INSTALLING THIS LIGHT IN HAZARDOUS LOCATIONS, CHECK THE OPERATING TEMPERATURE LIMITS
PRIOR TO INSTALLATION TO BE SURE IT CONFIRMS TO THE ENVIRONMENTAL TEMPERATURE RESTRICTIONS AND NEC
CLASSIFICATIONS. CHECK THE FIXTURE'S METAL NAMEPLATE FOR TEMPERATURE (T) RATINGS.
WARNING: DO NOT SCRATCH OR CHIP THE FRONT LENS. TURN THE POWER OFF BEFORE STARTING INSTALLATION OR
REPAIR.
WARNING: OPERATE THIS FIXTURE ONLY AT THE VOLTAGE OF YOUR SPECIFIC SUPPLY CIRCUIT. FAILURE TO DO SO
WILL RESULT IN DAMAGE TO THE FIXTURE.
WARNING: SUBSTITUTE COMPONENTS MAY IMPAIR EXPLOSION PROOF SAFETY.
INSTALLATION
Before operation, confirm that the power source will provide the correct voltage
indicated on the product nameplate.
Check product nameplate for Ratings and Approvals.
Place the light in the desired location and run its power cord to a power source. Ensure
all safety requirements are followed for the hazardous area. If longer lengths of cables
are required a minimum of 18awg (1.5mm diameter) is required.
General Mounting
For maximum long term reliability and light output, the light must be installed in free air.
For best optical performance Larson Electronics recommends mounting unit at a 45° angle with respect to the vertical
mounting pole or wall.
For maximum long term reliability and light output, the light must be installed in free air.
The Area Light series luminaire fixture design incorporates an over-temperature control circuit that reduces input power
should internal temperatures reach a maximum level. As a result, light output may be reduced.
An internal power-factor-corrected supply allows it to be used from any nominal 100V 277V, 50/60Hz single phase AC
supply without any variation in light output.
Voltage: 100-277V AC 50/60Hz
It is recommended that to ensure moisture does not flow through the cable a loop
in the cord should be implemented where possible during installation. If this is not
practical for the install than necessary precautions should be taken to prevent
moisture entering the conduit thus entering the fixture.
Recommended mounting height: 8 feet to 24 feet (2.4 m to 7.3 m)
