Symptom
The break tank is overfilling and
discharging water to drain or
over the weir
The pump is repeatedly running
in short bursts

Problem
The wrong/no flow restrictor is
installed in the float valve (mini and
midi units only)
The float valve position is set
incorrectly
The float valve has failed
A pump non-return valve has failed
The internal isolation valve within
the unit is partially closed
The restriction in the connecting
pipe work is too great
A pump non-return valve has failed
The expansion vessel has failed or
lost its pre-charge
The point of connection of the unit is
too far away from the expansion
vessel
The plastic housing of the digital
controller has come apart and the
PCB has moved
The controller is beings subject to
power spikes
The fuse has blown
The mains power supply is at an
incorrect voltage or frequency
The 12V transformer has failed
The digital controller has failed
The unit is due an annual service

Check float valve flow restrictor
selection (mini and midi units only)
Set the float valve to its lowest
possible position
Replace float valve
Replace non-return valve
Fully open the internal isolation valve
Increase bore/ reduce number of
bends/ reduce length of connecting
pipe work
Replace non-return valve
Check the expansion vessel pre-charge
and re-charge if necessary
Move unit/expansion vessel
connection points closer together.
Reassemble the digital controller
housing and ensure that the PCB is
properly seated
Fit a suitable power filter
Replace the fuse
Check mains power supply
Replace Transformer
Replace digital controller
Contact service engineer
