Tethering and mobile hotspot mode
Internet tethering
Internet tethering allows another device, such as a laptop or tablet, to share your device's connection to the cellular
network. You can connect the other device to your BlackBerry device using a USB cable or, if both devices are Bluetooth
enabled, you can use Bluetooth technology instead.
Additional charges might apply for using Internet tethering.
Mobile hotspot
When you use the mobile hotspot feature, your device becomes a wireless access point for other Wi-Fi enabled devices to
connect to and access the Internet. For the best performance, plug your device into a battery charger and connect it to a
power source.
Since the mobile hotspot feature uses the cellular network, you might incur additional data charges.
Use Internet tethering to share your cellular network connection
If your device has a data plan, you can share its Internet connection with another device, such as a laptop or tablet. You can
tether your devices using an appropriate cable or a Bluetooth connection.
1. Swipe down from the top of the screen.
2. Tap
> Network & Internet > Tethering & Mobile Hotspot.
3. Do one of the following:
• Connect your device to another device using an appropriate cable, and then turn on the USB tethering switch.
• Turn on the Bluetooth tethering switch, and then connect your device to another device using Bluetooth technology.
