Problem
No sound.
The volume cannot be increased.
No sound is coming from a specific speaker.
(RX-V579 only)
No sound is coming from the surround back
speaker.
No sound is coming from the subwoofer.
Cause
Another input source is selected.
Signals that the unit cannot reproduce are being input.
(RX-V579 only)
Audio output to Zone A (or Zone B) is disabled.
The cable connecting the unit and playback device is defective.
The maximum volume is set.
A device connected to the output jacks of the unit is not turned on.
(This may happen due to the nature of AV receivers.)
The playback source does not contain a signal for the channel.
The currently selected sound program/decoder does not use the
speaker.
Audio output of the speaker is disabled.
The volume of the speaker is set too low.
(RX-V579 only)
Audio output to Zone A (or Zone B) is disabled.
The speaker cable connecting the unit and the speaker is
defective.
The speaker is malfunctioning.
The extended surround is disabled.
"Power Amp Assign" is set to "BI-AMP" or "Zone B".
The playback source does not contain Low Frequency Effect (LFE)
or low-frequency signals.
Subwoofer output is disabled.
The volume of the subwoofer is too low.
The subwoofer has been turned off by its auto-standby function.
Remedy
Select an appropriate input source with the input selection keys.
Some digital audio formats cannot be played back on the unit. To check the audio
format of the input signal, use "Signal Info" in the "Option" menu (p.74).
Press ZONE A (ZONE B) to enable audio output to Zone A (or Zone B).
If there is no problem with the connection, replace with another cable.
Use "Max Volume" in the "Setup" menu to adjust the maximum volume (p.87).
Turn on all devices connected to the output jacks of the unit.
To check it, use "Signal Info" in the "Option" menu (p.74).
To check it, use "Test Tone" in the "Setup" menu (p.83).
Perform YPAO (p.28) or use "Configuration" in the "Setup" menu to change the
speaker settings (p.80).
Perform YPAO (p.28) or use "Level" in the "Setup" menu to adjust the speaker
volume (p.82).
Press ZONE A (ZONE B) to enable audio output to Zone A (or Zone B).
If there is no problem with the connection, replace with another speaker cable.
To check it, replace with another speaker. If the problem persists, the unit may be
malfunctioning.
Use "Extended Surround" in the "Option" menu to select a decoder to be used
(p.73).
When "Power Amp Assign" in the "Setup" menu is set to "BI-AMP" or "Zone B",
you cannot use the surround back speakers. To use the surround back speakers,
set "Power Amp Assign" to "Basic" (p.80).
To check it, set "Extra Bass" in the "Setup" menu to "On", in order to output the
front channel low-frequency components from the subwoofer (p.81).
Perform YPAO (p.28) or set "Subwoofer" in the "Setup" menu to "Use" (p.80).
Adjust the volume on the subwoofer.
Disable the auto-standby function of the subwoofer or adjust its sensitivity level.
