Blocking unrated programs
Some b roadcast T V s hows a nd m ovies a re a ssigned a r ating o f " Unrated". W hether o r n ot s uch
programs c ontain c ontent t hat i s o bjectionable t o y ou c annot b e d etermined. H owever, y ou c an c hoose
to b lock s uch p rograms.
To b lock a ll u nrated b roadcasts:
1. From t he H ome s creen m enu, n avigate t o S ettings > P arental c ontrols, a nd t hen e nter y our
parental c ontrol P IN.
2. In t he P arental c ontrols s creen, n avigate t o T V t uner > B lock a ll u nrated p rograms.
3. Highlight U nrated p rograms a nd p ress O K. W hen b locking i s e nabled, t he a djacent p adlock i con
changes f rom u nlocked t o l ocked.
Tip: B locking p rograms t hat h ave b een a ssigned a r ating o f " Unrated" d oes n ot b lock p rograms t hat
have n o r ating a ssigned t o t hem ( for e xample a b roadcast o f a l ocal t own c ouncil m eeting).
Programs t hat d o n ot h ave a n a ssigned r ating d isplay R ating N A ( for " not a pplicable, m eaning a
rating i s n ot n eeded). P rograms t hat h ave n o a ssigned r ating a re c onsidered " safe"; t herefore, t here
is n o n eed t o b lock t hem.
What happens when a TV show is blocked?
After y ou've s et u p p arental c ontrols, T V s hows a nd m ovies c an b e b locked:
• When y ou c hange c hannels a nd t he n ew c hannel i s p laying a p rogram w hose r ating e xceeds
your s ettings.
• When a n ew s how c omes o n t he c hannel y ou a re w atching a nd i ts r ating e xceeds y our s ettings.
When a p rogram i s b locked b y p arental c ontrol s ettings, t he T V d isplays a b locked m essage:
Whenever t his b locked m essage a ppears, b oth t he v ideo a nd a udio o f t he s how a re b locked, a s w ell a s
program d ata t hat w ould n ormally a ppear i n t he a rea a t t he b ottom o f t he s creen.
