Connecting
Using the provided mounting hardware, attach the FortiAP unit to the
wall or ceiling.
Adequate grounding must be provided to the FortiAP unit in
compliance with the local electrical code.
This device complies with the IEEE 802.af and 802.3at PoE specifications.
•
802.af supports 2x2 MIMO and default TX power of 17dBm.
•
802.3at supports 4x4 MIMO and default TX power of 23dBm.
Caution: This device complies with IEEE 802.af and 802.3at PoE
specification. Do not use any PoE injectors that are not IEEE 802.3af
or 802.3at compliant, as they may damage your device.
To connect the FortiAP unit:
1. Insert an Ethernet cable into the LAN1 or LAN2 port of the
FortiAP unit.
2. Insert the other end of the Ethernet cable into your switch.
3. If you are not using PoE, connect the DC plug of the optional power
adapter into the DC power jack on the FortiAP unit, and then insert
the other end into an appropriate power outlet.
4. The power LED will light up.
