Data Receive Unit with up to 8 Bi-directional Data and
The AMG4708AG is a rackmount data receive unit designed to transmit and receive up to 8 data or
audio signals plus full duplex 100BaseT Ethernet connectivity over two singlemode fibres. The 8
data/audio channel interfaces, whether RS232, RS422, RS485, 20mA, TTL, Contact Closure,
Lonworks or Audio, are defined at manufacture by the addition of daughter boards fitted onto the Data
Expansion Board A.
The AMG4708AG is designed to plug into an AMG2005 subrack, which in turn fits into a 19" rack
system. The rack incorporates an AMG2003 power supply.
The AMG4708AG is designed to operate with AMG4707A or rackmount equivalent AMG4707AG data
transmit unit in a point to point configuration.

- Page 8 Mounting Details The unit is designed to be mounted within a 2005 Subrack on standard card guides. Note the AMG standard racks are supplied with guide rails every 7HP. In order to fit this unit in the subrack, 2 sets of card guides have to be removed by pulling gently on the card guides.
