MTS (Multi-Channel Television Sound)
M T S technology allows several audio signals to be broadcast at once, giving you a choice in what
you wish to hear with a T V program . In addition to m ono or stereo sound, an M T S broadcast m ay
also include a S econd Audio P rogram (S AP )

S elect the m ode
(T he O N AIR arrow tells you if a broadcast is in S tereo and/or contains an S AP ).
• Keep the T V in S T E R E O m ode to get the best sound quality. T he sound will work in S T E R E O
m ode even if a certain broadcast is in M O N O sound only.
• C hoose the M O N O setting to reduce excessive noise on a certain channel or broadcast.
• S electing S AP will allow you to hear an alternative soundtrack, if one is available.

TV Speaker

If your TV is connected to a stereo system, you can turn off the TV speakers and listen to the audio
through your stereo.

• Before you turn the TV Speaker setting from O FF to O N , make sure that the TV volume level is low!
If the TV volume is set too high, the sound level will be extremely loud.
• After a power interruption, the TV Speaker settings will return to "O N ".
NOTE:
• External Speakers: W hen using external speakers or am plifiers, shut off the T V S peakers
(see 'T V S peaker') above.
