tial ele ctric al shock or fire ha z ards. In ord er not to d efe at the safe guards incorporate d in
this TV set, observe the following b asic rules for its installation, use and servicing.
And also follow all warnings and instructions marke d on your TV set.
INSTALLATION
1 Your TV set is e quip p e d with a polariz e d A C line plug (one bla d e of the plug is wid er
than the other).
This safety fe ature allows the plug to fit into the power outlet only one way. Should
you b e una ble to insert the plug fully into the outlet, try reversing the plug.
Should it still fail to fit, conta ct your ele ctrician.
2 O p erate the TV set only from a power sourc e as indic ate d on the TV set or refer to the
op erating instructions for this information. If you are not sure of the typ e of power
sup ply to your home, consult your TV set d e aler or loc al power comp any. For b attery
op eration, refer to the op erating instructions.
3 O verloa d e d A C outlets and extension cords are d ang erous, and so are fraye d power
cords and broken plugs. They may result in a shock or fire ha z ard. C all your servic e
te chnician for re pla c ement.
4 Do not allow anything to rest on or roll over the power cord, and do not pla c e the TV
set where power cord is subje ct to traffic or a buse. This may result in a shock or fire
ha z ard.
5 Do not use this TV set ne ar water — for example, ne ar a b athtub, washbowl, kitchen
sink, or laundry tub, in a wet b asement, or ne ar swimming pool, etc.
6 If an outsid e antenna is conne cte d to the TV set, b e sure the antenna system is
ground e d so as to provid e some prote ction a g ainst volta g e surg es and built-up static
charg es. Se ction 810 of the N ational Ele ctric al C od e provid es information with
resp e ct to prop er grounding of the mast and sup porting structure, grounding of the
le a d-in wire to an antenna discharg e unit, siz e of grounding conductors, loc ation of
antenna discharg e unit, conne ction re quirements for the grounding ele ctrod e.
