NOTE: Tensioning the PTO belt is easier if you connect the
spring to the spring anchor, and then use the idler to tension
the belt. Place a 1/2-inch driver and ratchet extension into
square hole in PTO belt idler and install the PTO mower belt
on PTO belt idler while pulling idler towards the rear of unit.
NOTE: The PTO idler spring length range should be
13 – 13.25 in. (33 – 33.6 cm). Measure the spring length
with the deck set at 2 in. height for mowing at a 1 – 3 in.
cutting height. Measure the spring length with the deck set at
4 in. height for mowing at a 3 – 5 in. cutting height. Adjust
the idler spring length as needed, see figure 12.
5. Connect the lift chains on the carrier lift arms to the
mower deck with hardware attached to the deck lifts.
6. Attach the rear of the lift cylinder to the carrier frame with
1/2" x 4" bolt, 1/2" washer, spacer and 1/2" nut removed
in step 2 above (figure 7). Attach the front of the lift
cylinder to the cylinder mount with a 5/8" x 2-1/4" bolt,
5/8" lock washer and 5/8" center lock nut from the
