INSTALLATION INSTRuCTIONS
2. Faucet Location Selection continued
NOTE: The drinking water faucet should be positioned with function,
convenience and appearance in mind. An adequate flat area is
required to allow the faucet base to rest securely. The faucet fits
through a 9/16-inch hole. Most sinks have pre-drilled 1
1
-inch diameter holes that accommodate this system's faucet. If a
1
2
pre-drilled hole is not available, it will be necessary to drill a 9/16-inch
hole into the sink (Figure 2).
A)
Line the bottom of the sink with newspaper to prevent debris,
parts or tools from falling into drain or disposal.
B)
Place masking tape over area to be drilled to help prevent
scratches if drill bit slips.
C)
Mark hole with a center punch. Use a 1/4-inch drill bit to drill the
pilot hole.
D)
Use a 9/16-inch drill bit and drill a hole completely through the sink.
E)
Smooth rough edges with a file and remove masking tape.

3. Mount the Faucet

CAUTION
The cartridge life indicator cable may become pinched.
Insert the cable through the hole and pull through completely. The
cartridge life indicator could be damaged if the installer pulls on the
cable too hard. The indicator should be held down to the countertop
when the faucet is inserted. Route the cable through the opening of
the "C" washer.
NOTE: Included in the faucet parts bag are items supplied but not
used in this installation: metal escutcheon plate, large washer, small
washer and locating washer.
A)
Run the cable from the cartridge life indicator through the
large gasket.
B)
Insert plug end of cable into hole in sink or countertop. Thread
cable through hole and place large gasket and cartridge life
indicator over hole. Realign gasket, if needed, so it is equally
distributed under the cartridge life indicator.
C)
Place small gasket with inner ridge down into top of the
cartridge life indicator.
D)
Insert faucet stem into cartridge life indicator and hole in sink or
countertop.
E)
Locate faucet in desired position and recheck that the gaskets are
equally distributed. It is recommended that the lighted section of
the cartridge life indicator face forward for easy viewing.
F)
From under the sink, slide the metal "C" washer, lock washer and
lock nut onto threaded faucet stem.
G)
Hand-tighten nut and recheck position of faucet on sink. Tighten
nut with wrench until faucet is secure. Do not over-tighten lock
nut. Hint: Have someone hold faucet in desired position on top of
sink while tightening the nut.

4. Mount the System

CAUTION
The system should be mounted on a firm, solid surface that
is able to support the weight of the system. The use of wall anchors is
recommended.
CAUTION
Damage to the filter heads may result if the bracket is
engaged with only one of the two heads. Be certain the filter heads
are centered on the bracket.
