• Never pull or carry the device by the connecting cable. When you pull it out of the plug
socket, always pull on the mains plug and never the mains cable!
• Protect the device from heat sources, fl ames, sub-zero temperatures, persistent moisture and
impacts.
• Never place any heavy objects on the device or the connecting cable.
• Use only original accessories from the manufacturer in order to guarantee that there is no
interference that may prevent the device from working and to avoid possible damage.

Before Initial Use

1. Wipe the device with a clean, damp cloth. Clean the grinding container (14) and the collecting
container (3) with detergent and warm water (see the "Cleaning and Storage" chapter).
2. Set up the device and connect it (see the "Set-Up and Connection" chapter).
3. Before you fi rst enjoy a coffee made from freshly ground coffee beans, we recommend that
you carry out a trial run to remove any possible production residues. To do this, follow the
instructions in the "Handling and Operation" chapter.
When the device is fi rst used, production-related additives (e. g. grease) may cause a small
amount of smoke and / or an odour to be produced. This is normal and not a device defect.
4. Clean the device and accessories.
Set-Up and Connection
PLEASE NOTE!
• Only connect the device to a plug socket that is properly installed. The plug socket must
also be readily accessible after connection so that the connection to the mains can quickly
be isolated. The mains voltage must match the technical data of the device.
• Do not use the device in conjunction with extension cables.
• Lay the connecting cable in such a way that it does not become squashed or bent and
does not come into contact with hot surfaces.
1. Fully unwind the connecting cable.
2. Place the device on the kitchen unit or another dry, solid, fl at, heat-resistant and hard-wearing
work surface. Ensure there is suffi cient clear space on all sides (at least 20 cm to the sides and
30 cm above).
3. Plug the mains plug into a plug socket.
