the performance. If, however, there are changes to the mic set-up, or constantly
changing situations, Hold Filters should be kept off to allow the MP-FE2 to detect and
eliminate new feedback as necessary.
12) Sensitivity Control: : Adjustment of this 16 position rotary control will determine the
unit's sensitivity to the onset of feedback. If lengthy feedback occurs, the sensitivity
control should be increased towards maximum. It is best to allow the MP-FE2 to detect
and eliminate possible feedback during a live sound check when the feedback will not
detract from actual performance. It is also helpful to have performers move to all
positions they will use during performance for a complete live sound check. Note:
feedback does need to occur for the unit to detect it and set the appropriate notch filter
for feedback elimination.
Setting the control to Bypass (position 16) will effectively turn off any feedback detection
and reset all notch filters so a new set of 12 filters can be determined.
13) Auto/Fixed Attenuation Button: When set to Auto (button depressed), the notch
filters will gradually release their attenuation levels if they do not detect more feedback,
completely removing all attenuation after a period if no feedback is detected. Should the
system detect new feedback, the notch filter will be enabled again. This allows the notch
filter to be attenuated only as much as necessary to eliminate feedback.
When set to Fixed Attenuation (button out), the notch filters will immediately be set to
45db of attenuation and remain there until the notch filter is reset or overwritten.
