WATERAX MINI-STRIKER Owner's Manual

Disassembly and Assembly of the Pump End

Before Disassembly or Assembly
 Read and follow all instructions thoroughly and carefully.
 Ensure shaft, bores, screws, etc. are free of burrs and lubricant.
Tools Required
 SAE Socket wrench with the following socket:
10 mm
 SAE Wrench key:
7/16" (ratchet)
3/4"
 SAE Allen key:
3/16"

Disassembly Procedure for MINI-STRIKER Pump End

The following steps refer to figure 1
1.
Remove the 6 screws #6 and lockwashers #5 on the suction cover #15.
2.
Remove suction cover #15
3.
Remove O-ring #14.
4.
Unscrew impeller #13.
5.
Remove the mechanical rotary seal #12.
6.
Remove screw #11.
7.
Remove 3/16 key #8 from the shaft #9.
8.
Remove shaft #9 and O-ring #10.
9.
Remove pump body #7 from the engine by removing screws #21 and lockwashers #5.
10. Press out the stationary part of the mechanical rotary seal #12 from the pump body #7.

Assembly Procedure for MINI-STRIKER Pump End

The following steps refer to figure 1
1.
Install the stationary part of the mechanical rotary seal #12 in the pump body #7.
2.
Install the pump body #7 on the engine using the screws #21 and lockwashers #5.
3.
Install 3/16 key #8 and shaft #9 onto engine shaft.
4.
Install O-ring #10.
5.
Apply Loctite 290 (or equivalent) on screw #11 and install.
6.
Install rotating part of the mechanical rotary seal #12 onto impeller #13 (carbide face to face engine).
7.
Apply anti-seize on the shaft threads and install impeller #13 onto shaft #9.
8.
Install O-ring #14 onto suction cover #15.
9.
Install suction cover #15 onto pump body by installing screws #6 and lockwashers #5.

Spark Arrester Maintenance

The following steps refer to figure 1
1.
While the muffler is cold, remove bolts and muffler protector.
2.
Remove screw #18 from the spark arrester #17.
3.
Brush off the carbon deposits from spark arrester screen. Be careful to avoid damaging the screen.
4.
Check muffler for carbon deposits. If necessary remove muffler and tap outer flange with a plastic hammer.
Do not tap on seal flange. If seal flange has dents or damage, replace muffler.
