Auto Focus and Macro Focus Shooting Tips
Changing the Auto Focus Area
Use the following procedure to change the metering area used
for Auto Focus (AF).
1.
In the REC mode, press [MENU].
2.
On the "REC" tab, select "AF Area" and then
press [ ].
3.
Use [ ] and [ ] to select the setting you
want and then press [SET].
To do this:
Use a small area in the center of the
screen for metering
• This setting is best when you want to
use focus lock (page 110).
To do this:
When the shutter button is half-pressed,
have the camera automatically select
one or more of nine possible focus
frames
• If the camera is able to focus on
multiple points, all applicable focus
frames turn green.
Half-pressing the shutter button focuses
the subject and also starts a focus
tracking operation that keeps the focus
frame on the subject as it moves.
