12-24 V +20 % IDS Imaging Development Systems GmbH recommends to adjust the power supply to the power requirement of the device to limit overheating in case of short circuit. To ensure electrical safety, the power supply must meet the requirements for LPS (Limited Power Source) according to EN 60950-1 or class 2 according to UL 1310. -

The digital inputs are galvanically isolated using optocouplers to protect the device and the PC against surges. - Page 15 IDS NXT vegas: Hardware description The output of the optocoupler can be used as an open collector or open emitter output.
