ENC-EC35 Series Assembly Guide
Step 1: Base Mounting
Slip the base and centering tool (sold separately)
over the shaft. Adjust the base to align with the screw
holes. Press down on the centering tool to secure it to
the mounting surface. Fasten the mounting screws to
the mounting surface and remove the centering tool.
Step 2: Assembled Encoder
Next, align the assembled encoder over the shaft so
the mark on the hub is oriented in the preferred
direction for the cable to exit. Press the encoder onto
the shaft until it snaps onto the base.
Caution: Do not press directly on the connector
of the assembled encoder to avoid any damage to
the connector shroud.
Step 3: Spacer Tool Removal
Remove the encoder spacer tool to dislodge the
hub disk. The encoder is now properly gapped.
Step 4: Cable Connection
Attach the cable to the connector of the encoder.

  • Page 2 Step 5: Dynamic Timing of Encoder This step requires two motors. The second motor will back drive the target motor. First, connect motor U winding and encoder U output to two separate channels on an oscilloscope. With the motor running and output being displayed on the oscilloscope, rotate the encoder until the two signals are aligned with each other as seen on the figure on the right.
