Replacing the master TRX in BTS configurations with two or more
TRXs
Note
If you want to run the TRX test locally, you must do this before unlocking the site.
If you want to run the TRX test remotely, you must do this after unlocking the
site.

Connect your Nokia BTS Manager PC to the LMP connector on the
interface unit.
Block the site locally (BCF Block) using Nokia BTS Manager if the site is
not already locked from the BSC/NMS.
Open the cable entry block.
Make a note of the TRX cabling.
Disconnect the cabling from the faulty master TRX.
Disconnect the cabling from one of the slave TRXs.
Open the master TRX retaining screws with Torx T10 driver. Loosen the
screws enough to remove the unit, but leave them engaged in the thread to
allow easy refitting.
Remove the master TRX.
Open the slave TRX retaining screws with a Torx T10 driver.
Remove the uncabled slave TRX.
Insert the removed slave TRX to the slot of the master TRX and tighten the
retaining screws with a Torx T10 driver.
Unpack a new TRX.
Insert the new TRX into the slot of the removed slave TRX and tighten the
retaining screws with a Torx T10 driver.
Re-cable the TRXs.
Close the cable entry block.
