    Installation Manual Serena Series 4.0 ERV Operational Modes Functionality Off Mode ERV fans are off. Defrost damper is closed (if equipped) to prevent cold air from entering the unit. Normal Mode In Normal mode ERV fans run and the unit exchanges indoor air with outdoor air. The airflow exchange can be adjusted in four preset airflow values.

    Installation Manual Serena Series 6.0 ERV Typical Installations 6.1 Horizontal and Vertical Installations 30" clearance (300 cfm) and 34" clearance (500 cfm) is recommended for cleaning of the core and servicing the unit. Dampers are installed for horizontal installation. For vertical installation, both dampers must be turned so they can open and close properly when there is any backdraft.

The volume of air brought in from the outside must equal the volume of air exhausted by the unit while running at a normal speed.
