2.2 USAGE NOTES

- For safe unmounting of the Envoy Pro mini, and to ensure that no data is lost, always eject or unmount
the drive from your operating system before disconnecting from your host.
- To ensure that your files are protected and to prevent data loss, we strongly suggest that you keep two
copies of your data: one copy on your OWC Envoy Pro mini and a second copy on another storage
medium, such as an optical backup, or on another external storage unit. Any data loss or corruption
while using the Envoy Pro mini is the sole responsibility of the user, and under no circumstances may
OWC, its parent, partners, affiliates, officers, employees, or agents be held liable for loss of the use of
data including compensation of any kind or recovery of the data.
- Performance will vary depending on host hardware, usage, and the connection type being used to mount
the OWC Envoy Pro mini.
- There is an LED on the opposite end of the OWC Envoy Pro mini when connected with USB Type-C. The
LED will show drive activity by blinking blue and remain off when inactive. The LED light also functions
with USB Type-A but will not be as visible.
- The included lanyard has (2) detachable points. One detachable point is the quick release for the drive.
This allows you to remove the drive while keeping the lanyard around your neck. The other breakaway
point is around the neck for safely breaking away in case the lanyard is pulled.
- If the host is protected by a case or shield, the Envoy Pro mini might not fully seat when connecting with
USB Type-C . Using a USB Type-C extender cable is recommended for connecting the device. i.e: A tablet
in a case or the I/O shield of a PC.
- The OWC Envoy Pro mini needs to be formatted on a computer before using with an Android device
or iPad.
- The OWC Envoy Pro mini can be connected to devices with a Lightning port. Requires an Apple Lightning
to USB3 Camera Adapter and USB Power Adapter or battery.
