The table below shows the expected lifetime of rotors and buckets for use in the MX-307, 207 and 107 in terms of years or cycles. When the rotor or bucket reaches the end of its expected lifetime in years or cycles, stop its operation immediately and contact your dealer or local TOMY representative.
2-1. Operating Principles When the MX-307, 207 or 107 starts operation, the motor begins to drive and accelerate the rotor, while the timer starts simultaneously. When the centrifuge reaches its set rotation speed, it maintains the speed until the set operation time ends.

Mounting/Dismounting the Rotor CAUTION Ensure that there is no damage or foreign material on the motor shaft. ● Otherwise, the rotor cannot be mounted properly on the motor shaft, thereby causing the rotor to fall off during spinning. Ensure that there is no damage, deformation or corrosion in rotors.

5-4. Preparing Sample Tubes WARNING Do not use the MX-307, 207 and 107 to centrifuge flammable or explosive samples. ● Failure to do so may damage the instrument, thereby resulting in death or serious injury to laboratory personnel. The MX-307, 207 and 107 are not an explosion-proof model.

< To prepare sample tubes > Before using centrifuge tubes, check the specifications of the tubes, referring to“11-4. Rotor Specifications and List of Applicable Tubes”. When using commercially available tubes which are not included on the list referred to above, always consult us prior to use. Inspect centrifuge tubes carefully before each use.

(See "To load samples" below.) ※ Keep the load of samples and plates balanced when centrifuging samples of different relative densities. After loading samples, ensure that the two plates are loaded equally using a balancer.
5-5. Loading Samples CAUTION Load the rotor symmetrically around the motor shaft. opposing adapters, tubes and samples should be of the same type and tubes should be filled equally. ● Otherwise, it may cause an unbalanced load and apply excessive force to the rotor, thereby causing the rotor to fall off.

< Rotor rack adapter ARA-01 > The rotor rack adapter ARA-01 is designed for adjusting the level of a rack installed in the TMA- 300 Rotor so that it provides easy access to the rack. 5-8. Ending Operation When the set run time has elapsed, deceleration will start automatically. ① The stop indicator lamp begins to flash. ※ If the key is pressed during spinning, the remaining run time is forced to set "0" and STOP deceleration will start.
6. USEFUL FUNCTIONS 6-1. Checking Operating Conditions during the Run Each set parameter of operating conditions can be checked at any time during the run. < To check the set temperature, speed and run time > Press the setting key of an operating parameter to be checked. 6-4. Displaying the RCF The RCF can be displayed on the control panel instead of the speed. The MX-307, 207 and 107 calculate the RCF value from a rotational radius set by the FUNC key. Before calculating the RCF value, set the rotational radius properly in accordance with the rotor and tube in use referring to “11-4.

6-5. Memory Function The MX-307, 207 and 107 have a memory function which allows storing frequently used settings of operating parameters. Two sets of operating parameters including temperature, speed/RCF, run time and Soft Brake setting can be stored in memory.
6-6. Power Saving (ECO) Mode When the centrifuge is not active use for a certain period while the power saving (ECO) mode has been selected, it will automatically turn to power saving mode to reduce the power consumption during the standby state. <...
7. FUNCTION(FUNC) KEY FUNC The MX-307, 207 and 107 are designed that the key provides functions and settings which are not available on the control panel in the normal mode. While the indicator lamp on FUNC key is illuminating, each display on the control panel shows information in some special mode.
The soft brake is applied at a speed less than or equal to the set speed. 5 〜 160 (MX-207, MX-307) ※ When turning on the unit again after turning off the power, the setting returns to “5”. 7-3. Selecting the Flash Mode Pattern(F2) This function allows selecting the Flash mode pattern.

9. TROUBLESHOOTING If any system malfunction in the MX-307, 207 or 107 is suspended, when it is operated properly according to this Operator's Manual, check the cause referring to the table in “9-1. Symptoms and Solutions” and take the corresponding action. If the symptoms of the malfunction is not identified or the actions described do not solve the problem, disconnect power cord from the electrical outlet immediately and contact your dealer or local TOMY representative.

9-4. Opening the Lid in Case of Power Failure WARNING Never open the lid while the rotor is spinning. ● Accidental contact with the spinning rotor may cause a serious injury. During the run, in the event of a power failure or while turning the power off, the safety device is activated and does not allow the lid to be opened by conventional means.
