§ At high temperatures, as well as in the presence of strong magnetic fields, the
properties of the magnet may change so that it can no longer hold the tracker. A fall
can lead to personal injury and damage to property and must be avoided in any case.
§ The Loc Check Asset Tracker is powered by a lithium-ion (Li-Ion) battery. Appropriate
safety measures must therefore be taken (disconnect the battery), especially when
transporting the device by air. If in doubt, consult the passenger service department of
your airline.
3. Disposal
The tracker must not be disposed of in household waste. The tracker contains a Li-ion
battery and electronic components, which must be recycled by suitable collection
points.
4. Positioning
a. Sending cycles
§ The duration between position updates can be freely selected between 1 hour and 1
week. Changes of the cycle are always taken over after the next transmission.
b. How it works
§ The Loc Check Tracker determines its current geographic position using only the
cellular network. The tracker thus receives a signal in almost any environment and can
thus also record a position indoors, including basements.
§ To determine its position, the Loc Check Tracker uses the well-known multilateration
method (see Fig. 1), in which a position with a corresponding error radius is calculated
from the signal strength received by the tracker from at least three radio masts. If the
Loc Check Tracker receives signals from only one radio mast, its location and an error
radius calculated from the signal strength are output as the position.
