1 Introduction Dear Customer Congratulations, you have chosen a pump from arcomed ag. For optimum performance and safety, please read these instructions carefully before using the equipment. The pump must be taken in operation only after reading this user manual.
Using infusion sets or connecting accessories that have not been tested and released by arcomed ag for the use with this pump can harm patients, users and other people and therefore is not allowed.

If the pump shall be operated at very low rates, arcomed ag recommends the use of the Syramed® µSP6000 Chroma syringe pump. Warning: The Volumed® µVP7000 Chroma must not be used for patients, which are generally contra indicated to intravenous application of medicine.
Check if the current setting of the audible alarm is appropriated to the environment before connecting the pump to the patient. The Volumed pump can be configured to the customers needs, please contact the arcomed representative for detailed information on you pumps configuration settings.
An overview about successful and not successful patient boluses is displayed in the LCD. NOTE: The number of configuration steps in the mode PCA / EPCA is configurable. Contact your arcomed distributor for an adjustment according to your requirements. 3.3.7.1 Setting up the Pump in PCA Mode To access the PCA mode, press SELECT key after loading the IV set.

Running in TCI mode the pump permanently recalculates the necessary infusion rate to meet the target concentration (plasma or effect site) as precisely as possible.

To receive further information about the TCI mode, please get in contact with your arcomed dealer. 3.3.8.1 Entering the Infusion Parameter To access the TCI modes, press SELECT key after loading the infusion set. By pressing the DATA keys scroll to the point „TCI“ and press SELECT to confirm. To choose between the different drugs and/or models use the DATA keys.
NOTE: This feature is not enabled on pump on standard settings. Contact your Technical Department or your arcomed distributor to enable this feature. 3.4.3 Changing the Infusion Bag and Continue the Infusion While the pump is running it is possible to change the infusion bag and continue with the infusion with the pre set infusion parameters.
ON/OFF key shortly again the pump will turn back on with all earlier programmed parameters. NOTE: This function is by default disabled. To enable it get in contact with your arcomed distributor. If the pump is connected to mains the battery is charged and the battery condition is displayed on the LCD.
Warning: Infusion sets, expendable parts and single use items which are not approved by arcomed ag must not be used in combination with this infusion device and can harm the patient. If there are any new infusion sets to be used in combination with the Volumed® µVP7000 Chroma pump, please contact your local arcomed distributor for further information.
Defect batteries or batteries which do not pass the battery test (point 8 of safety check – chapter 9.1) must be replaced.. Warning: For safety reasons only batteries supplied by arcomed ag may be used as replacement. 4.5 Air in Line Alarm The air in line detector can detect air bubbles of a size of 50 l and bigger.
NOTE: The Easy Clip is a safety element which drastically improves patient safety. By monitoring the falling drops several test of internal functions can be made. arcomed ag recommends to always use the Easy Clip. 4.8 Nurse Call System The pump may be connected to the external nurse call system via the connector (20) on the rear of the unit using cable part number 94070.
Every technician who has received the technical training by arcomed ag may do warranty repairs. arcomed ag will send a new part as quickly as possible. However, it is necessary to send in the defect parts to receive the warranty exchange. If the defect part is not sent to arcomed ag, the part will be invoiced.

NOTE: The original battery of the pump is a NiMH Battery (9.6V, 2150mAh) and must be checked. In case those other batteries than the ones supplied by arcomed ag are used, safe operation of the pump cannot be guaranteed. Old batteries must be disposed in accordance with national laws arcomed article number of the battery is 71160.
