11.4.1 End milling cutter or drill mounting
To mount the end milling cutter or the drill, perform the following:
• join and mount the planing tables at the level of saw table according to sub-item 11.2.1;
• lower and fix the saw blade 32 with the butterfly nut 18 in the lower position "min" on
the cutting depth scale 37 (fig. 1);
• remove the cutter-block end guard 27 (fig. 1);
• mount the drill chuck 14 on the thread of cutter-block outlet end;
• mount and fix the required end milling cutter 13 or drill in the drill chuck 14;
• mount the guard 11 and fix it with screws.
Protective guard of end mill 11 has a spring-pressed protective cap 11b that moves inside
case 11a and opens the working part of the tool when a workpiece is pressed against the
cap in axial direction.
When the drill chuck is removed, it's necessary to mount the cutter-block end
guard 27 (figure 1).
11.4.2 Milling table mounting and adjustment
Mount milling table 10 as shown in figure 10. To do this, unscrew four bolts 39 (M8×20).
Place the milling table on top of bracket 53 and secure it with bolts 39.
Adjust table 10 in height relative to the tool. To do this, lower thumb nuts 54. By moving
handle-lever 55 up and down, set the required height and tighten thumb nuts 54.
11.4.3 Mounting the stop
Feeding of the processed material along table 10 is performed manually. To provide parallel
workpiece movement, use stop 5. Stop 5 should be secured at table 10 with thumb screws
12 through the threaded holes.
11.5 Milling with groove cutters
When performing milling, use groove cutters with external diameter of 125 mm. Cutter width:
4÷10 mm.
Before operation the machine (figure 11) should be prepared and adjusted:
• mount the groove cutter (not included in a standard package set);
• mount the guard 2;
• set the milling depth.
11.5.1 Groove cutter mounting
To mount groove cutter, do the following:
• remove saw blade guard 2 with riving knife 3 (figure 1);
• remove cutting table insert 30;
• lower the saw blade to the bottom position;
• unscrew the screw 18a;
• unscrew thumb nut 18;
• remove saw blade casing 19 by unscrewing the screws 21;
• raise saw blade 32 to the top position and mount thumb nut 18;
• using wrenches 7 and 15 (figure 12), unscrew nut 56 securing saw blade 32 (figure 13);
Nut 56 has left-hand thread. Screw it counterclockwise and unscrew clockwise
(figure 13).
• remove saw blade 32;
• mount the groove cutter, secure it with nut 56 on the rear side;
• mount milling pad 20 (figure 12);
• mount saw blade casing 19, secure it with screws 21;
• set and adjust the position of insert 30 relative to thr groove cutter.
