7.1 Workplace requirements
A workplace should be determined considering the location of blanks and manufactured
products, the direction of their moving, and waste collection place.
• there should be at least 1 m clear area around the perimeter of machine's work tables for
correct operation. It's necessary to provide clear working space for blanks supply and take
away considering their weight and dimensions;
• floor should not be slippery and have obstacles;
• the machine and workplace should be kept clean;
• workplace should be well illuminated with natural or artificial light sources; please note that
the usage of fluorescent lighting causes a stroboscopic effect which may lead to incorrect
determination of the rotating direction of the machine's moving parts;
• it's necessary to provide continuous air change in working rooms by airing or ventilation;
• do not work in rooms with explosive or chemically active areas;
• fire prevention regulations should be followed; it's necessary to have a fire extinguisher
available.
7.2 Added safety precautions
• keep children or other unauthorized persons out of the working area;
• while machine operation, keep steady stance and do not try to reach distant located objects;
• during operation avoid contact with grounded devices (e.g. pipelines, electric hot plates,
fridges etc.);
• do not stand in the area of the saw blade plane stand to the left or right of it;
• be attentive, watch your actions and do not operate when you are tired;
• do not use damaged saw blades and knives;
• use only blades, knives, cutters and equipment recommended by the manufacturer;
• pay attention that the type of the saw blade depends on the material being processed;
• use the riving knife and adjust it correctly;
• use the upper guard of saw blade and adjust its position correctly;
• avoid the machine overload;
• do not try to process blanks that are too short and thin;
• replace the plastic insert of the saw blade if it is worn out.
7.3 Operational hazards of the machine
Even if the machine is operated correctly, there may arise the following hazards:
• injury danger by a blank flown from operation point;
• injury danger by debris flown from a broken blank;
• noise and dust hazard;
• electric shock hazard in case of incorrect hardwiring.
To decrease the noise effect from the running machine, you must use hearing protection
equipment (earplugs). To protect the respiratory tract, use a face shield.
The overall duration of presence in the operation area with no hearing protection equipment
should not exceed 4.8 hours.
Provide safe storage of the machine. Keep it in dry rooms inaccessible to children.
In case of malfunction, the machine should be repaired by qualified personnel with the usage
of original spare parts.
7.4 Requirements for blanks
The weight of a blank being processed should not exceed 50 kg.
When processing the blanks more than 2 m long, it's necessary to use supports mounted
under the overhanging end of the blank or to operate in tandem. Minimal height of a blank
for cutting and milling – 10 mm.
