VII- Scan Profiles

Scan Profile
A
is a collection of hardware settings which control the electrical signals applied to the IC under test during the
scan. These include voltage, frequency, waveform and source resistance. Each profile has a name which loosely describes the
type of components that could be tested with this profile.
However, the SENTRY software provides an automatic setting which uses an optimised
components to be tested. This setting is strongly recommended. The AUTOMATIC scan profile uses both the High Sensitivity
and High Speed profiles successively, therefore generating two PinPrints per pin for increased test coverage.

Waveform
The
: This is the waveform used during the scan. We recommend using only sine waves for this setting.
The
Source resistance
1k, 10k and 100k are available, but we recommend using 1k or 10k for best results particularly when performing
comparisons.
Frequency
The
: This is the frequency of the signal used for the scan, and can be set from 100Hz to 5kHz in a 1-2-5
sequence. For the most accurate results, use the lowest frequency, but you can increase scan times by using a higher
frequency on higher pin count devices at the expense of a loss of comparison accuracy.
