Note for battery
• To prevent deterioration of the battery, charge the battery at least once every 6 months.
Formatting a microSD card
Be sure to read the in structions for microSD cards in the Help Gu ide on t he Internet before you store
content on a microSD card (not supp li ed).
BLUETOOTH® capabilities
You can li sten to music stored on your Wa lkman from Bluetooth aud io devices such as headphones or
speakers. Refer to the H Help Gu ide" for deta il s on using the Bluetooth function.
Pairing (first time the device is used)
When you connect Bluetooth aud io devices w ireless ly for the first t im e, the devices must be registered
to each other. Thi s registration is ca ll ed ~pa irin g."
1. Set the Blu etooth aud io device to pa irin g mode. (Refer to the device's in struction manual.)
2. Sw ipe upward on the home screen.
3. Tap [Settin gs]-[Connected devices] - [Pa ir new device].
4. Se lect the device from the device li st to make the Bluetooth connection.
Connecting (subsequent uses)
1. Turn on the pa ired Bluetooth aud io device and set it to standby.
2. Sw ipe upward on the home screen.
3. Tap [Settings] - [Connected devices] - [Connect ion preferences]- [B lu etooth].
4. Tap the switch to turn on the Bluetooth function.
The connect ion w ill be estab li shed automatica ll y. If not, go to the next step.
5. Tap [Settings] -[Co nnected devices]-[Previous ly connected devices].
6. Se lect the device from the pa ired device li st to make the Bluetooth connection.
Disconnecting
1. Sw ipe upward on the home screen.
2. Tap [Settings] - [Connected devices] - [Connect ion preferences]- [B lu etooth].
3. Tap the switch to turn off the Bluetooth function.
Note
• Pairing information is deleted in the fo ll owin g situations. Pair the devices aga in.
- One or both of the devices are reset to the factory sett in gs.
- Pairing informat ion is deleted from the devices, such as when the devices are repaired.
Wi-Fi (*1) capabilities
The W i-Fi function all ows your Wa lkm an to access the internet, or connect w ith other devices. Refer to
the ~Help Guiden for deta il s on using t he W i-Fi function.

Connecting
1. Sw ipe upward on the home screen.
2. Tap [Settin gs] - [Network & internet]- [Wi-Fi].
3. Tap the switch to turn on the W i-F i function.
A ll d iscovered W i-F i networks w ill be disp layed.
4. Se lect a W i-F i network from the li st to make the connection.
If required, enter the password.
Disconnecting
1. Sw ipe upward on the home screen.
2. Tap [Settin gs] - [Network
&
internet]- [Wi-Fi].
3. Tap the switch to turn off the W i-Fi function.
Troubleshooting
Your Walkman cannot charge the battery or is not recognized on your computer.
The USB Type-C cab le (supp li ed) is not connected to a USB connector on your computer properly.
Disconnect the USB Type-C cab le, and then reconnect it.
The charge lamp on the Wa lkman li ghts up in orange wh il e the battery is charg in g, and goes off
when the charg in g is comp leted.
The battery of your Wa lkm an may be depleted. Charge the battery for at least 30 minutes.
To ensure that your Wa lkm an is recognized by your computer, se lect [Fi le Transfer] in the [Use USB
for] menu disp layed on the Wa lkman.
If the [Use USB for] menu does not appear, sw ipe upward on the home screen, and t hen se lect
!Settin gs] - !Connected devices] - IUSB].

interna l memory of your un it. To read it, copy the [lm portant_ln format ion] file to your computer, and
fo ll ow the steps be low.
Double-click the [lm portant_lnformation] file. Then, se lect a language.

About the in-ear headphones
When you use in -ear headphones w ith a high degree of adhes ion, note the fo ll owin g. Otherw ise,
you may damage your ea rs or eardrums.
- Do not in sert the earbuds forcefu ll y into your ears.
- Do not remove the earbuds from your ears sudden ly. When you take off the headphones, move
the earbuds up and down gently.
About the headphones
Avo id playin g the unit at so loud a vo lume that extended play might affect your hearing.
At a high vo lum e outs ide sounds may become in aud ible. Avo id li sten in g to the unit in situations
where hearing must not be im pa ired, for examp le, wh il e driv in g or cyc lin g.
As the headphones are of open-a ir design, sounds go out through the headphones. Remember not
to disturb those close to you.
Please do not use the 5 GHz W i-F i function outdoors.
