BS-12 USB BORESCOPE

INTENDED USE
The borescope is in connection with a computer a visual means for optical error diagnostics and inspection
on dead plants and appliances.
The gooseneck and the camera head are waterproof and suitable for use in aqueous liquids (not acids or
alkalis). The handle is not waterproof and must not be exposed to moisture or submerged.
Using the flexible gooseneck, the camera situated on the top of the device can be moved into inaccessible
positions.
Transfer of images to the computer and power supply is realised with a USB interface at the computer.
For safety and approval reasons (CE), you may not convert and/or alter the product.
The borescope is not a medical product and not approved for use with humans or animals.
If you use the product for purposes other than those described above, the product may be damaged.
Furthermore, improper use may cause risks such as short-circuits, fire, electric shocks, injuries, etc. Please
read the operating instructions carefully and do not discard them. If you pass the product on to a third party,
please hand over these operating instructions as well.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
P lease read the operating instructions carefully and pay particular attention to the safety
instructions. We do not assume liability for injuries/material damages resulting from fail-
ure to observe the safety instructions and the information in these operating instructions
regarding the proper handling of the product. Furthermore, in such cases, the warranty/
guarantee will be null and void.
a) Persons / product
• T his product is a precision instrument. Do not drop it, do not expose it to impacts.
• T he base unit (handle and control area) are not waterproof and therefore must not be used
under water. Protect the base device from spay water.
• T he borescope must only be used for inspections of de-energised equipment. The camera
head is made of metal and this may lead to short-circuits.
• F or safety reasons, switch off the power to all components prior to every inspection.
• W hen not in use, always position the borescope and its accessories carefully.
• S ensitive surfaces (furniture polish, etc.) might cause chemical reactions with the housing.
• N ever switch the device on immediately after it has been taken from a cold into a warm envi-
ronment. Condensation that forms might destroy your device under unfavourable conditions.
Allow the device to reach room temperature before switching it on.
• C aution, LED light source: Do not look directly into the LED light! Do not look into the beam
directly or with optical instruments!
• I n commercial institutions, the accident prevention regulations of the Employer's Liability
Insurance Association for Electrical Systems and Operating Facilities are to be observed.
• T his product is not a toy. Keep out of the reach of children and pets.
• D o not leave packaging material carelessly lying around. It may become a dangerous play-
thing for children.
• P rotect the product from extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, strong vibrations, high humid-
ity, moisture, combustible gases, vapours and solvents.
• N ever expose the product to mechanical stress.
• I f safe operation is no longer possible, take the device out of service and secure it against
unintended use. Safe operation is no longer possible, if the product:
- has visible damage,
- no longer functions properly,
- h as been stored under adverse ambient conditions for an extended period of time or
- has been exposed to considerable strain during transport.
• H andle the product with care. The product can be damaged if crushed, struck or dropped,
even from a low height.
• A lso observe the safety and operating instructions of any other devices that are connected to
this product.
b) Other information
• I f you have doubts about how the product should be operated, or about safety or the connec-
tion, consult an expert.
• M aintenance, adjustment and repair work may be carried out only by an expert or a specialist

• I f in doubt about how to connect or operate the device correctly, or should any questions arise
that are not answered in these operating instructions, please contact our technical service or
any other specialist.

SOFTWARE
a) Installation
1. Make sure that the borescope is not connected to a computer during first installation.
2. S tart your computer. Insert the CD supplied in the CD or DVD drive. Administrator rights are required for
installation.
3. T he installation starts automatically when the software CD was inserted. If this is not the case, perform
the installation manually in the folder in the drive. Double-click on the file "Telescope_Driver.exe" to start
the installation.
4. T he confirmation prompt for the "Windows Logo Test" appears. This test alerts you that Window
not recognise the software. To confirm, click on "Continue anyway". If you want to abort the installation,
click on the button "Stop installation".
5. A fter confirming the confirmation prompt, the installation is completed automatically. Depending on the
operating system, a restart may be necessary. See Microsoft
The application program "Amcap" is a universal program for different devices.
A ll menu points not described in this operating manual are not included in the functional range of the
borescope.
b) De-installation
1. Go to the menu folder "Telescope Driver" in the Windows
2. C lick "Uninstall" to start de-installing and follow the instruction of the de-installation manager to complete
de-installation.
COMMISSIONING
O nly the camera head and the gooseneck may be submerged in de-energised liquids. The
gooseneck must not be submerged further than the marking "IP67 max. water level". The
handle must stay dry at all times.
T he borescope must only be used for inspections of de-energised equipment. The camera head
is made of metal and can cause short-circuits. For safety reasons, de-energise all components
prior to every inspection.
D o not exceed the minimum bending radius of 60 mm. This could damage the goosneck.
a) Connecting the borescope and starting the software
1. S witch on your computer and connect the USB connection plug (5) to a free USB port on your computer.
2. A t first connection the computer will indicate the connection of new hardware. Follow the Windows
instructions to install the driver for the borescope.
3. Start the program "Amcap" in the menu folder "Telescope Driver" in the Windows
4. G o to the tab "Devices" and select "Telescope Driver". Go to the tab "Options" and activate the item
"Preview". The camera image is displayed.
I f another USB camera is already installed, this can lead to error messages during the program start-up.
Then, select the driver "Telescope Driver" under the menu point "Devices" in the main menu.
