❏ The document is not paper. For example, if you have loaded a transparent file holder.
❏ The document is transparent.
❏ The document has been created using glossy paper.

Loading documents in the ADF

Important:

❏ Do not feed photographs or valuable original artwork into the ADF. Misfeeding may wrinkle or damage the
original. Scan these documents on the document glass instead.
❏ Remove any documents from the document glass. Make sure there is no dust on the glass before loading
documents in the ADF.
1. Slide the edge guides on the ADF input tray all the way outward.
