SYMPTOM
Tool operates but does not drive
staples fully.
Tool operates, but no staple
is driven.
Jammed staple.
Staple drives too deep.
Staple bends.
CAUSE
Speed select setting in wrong position.
Depth adjust setting incorrect.
Tool not firmly applied to workpiece.
Material and staple length.
Damaged or worn driver tip.
Damaged actuation mechanism.
Incorrect staples.
Debris in nosepiece.
Debris in magazine
Damaged or worn driver.
Worn magazine.
Damaged pusher spring.
Incorrect staples.
Magazine not secured after previous jam clear/
inspection.
Damaged or worn driver.
Material and staple length.
Debris in nosepiece.
Damaged pusher spring.
Tool is not yet run-in.
Worn magazine.
Power setting too high.
Depth adjust setting incorrect.
Staple hit knot in wood.
FIX
Select higher power setting.
Adjust tool free depth adjust dial.
Apply adequate force to tool securing it tightly to workpiece. See
instruction manual.
If the unit continues to stall (forcing the need to rotate the stall release
lever) choose the appropriate material and staple length that is not too
rigorous of an application.
Replace driver with kit, or see authorised service centre.

Clean nose area and watch closely for small pieces of broken staples
stuck in the track.
Clean magazine.

Make sure to magazine is latched properly.

New tools can take 100–500 staples for parts to mesh and wear
in together. Drive shorter staples during this period if experiencing
difficulty fully driving staples.
Replace magazine. See authorised service centre.
Select lower power setting.
Adjust tool free depth adjust dial.
Move 76 mm and try again.
