Maintenance instructions

General maintenance

• The employer and the operator are responsible for
assuring that the tool is kept in safe working order.
Furthermore, only authorized TJEP service per-
sonnel or TJEP distributors shall repair the tool and
must use parts or accessories that are supplied or
recommended by Kyocera Unimerco Fastening.
• Keep the tool in clean condition at all times. Wipe
off grease or oil with dry clean cloth to prevent
accidental drop of the tool.
• Use TJEP lubicator in the air plug (H) of the tool at
least twice a day (depending on frequency of use).
• Avoid any use of solvent base cleaner to clean the
tool, as certain solvent will damage or weaken the
composite parts of the tool.
• All screws and nuts should be kept tight and undam-
aged. Loose screws may result hazard situations
and cause severe personal injury or parts breakage.
• It is recommended to use a filter and regulator on
the compressor.
• On a daily basis empty the compressor tanks for
water.
• NEVER use a tool if there is any doubt.

Cold weather

• When operating the tool in temperatures near and
below freezing, the moisture in the air line may
freeze and prevent the tool from operating.
• Reduce the air pressure to 80 psi (5.5 bar) or less.
• Remove all fasteners from the magazine.
• Connect the compressor and blank-fire the tool, as
slow speed operation tends to warm up the moving
parts.

Storage

• When not in use for an extended period, apply a
thin coat of lubricant to the steel parts to avoid rust.
Do not store the tool in a cold weather environment.
When not in use, the tool should be stored in a
warm and dry place. Keep out of childrens reach.

Disposal

• Disposal of the tool must be carried out according to
the instructions given by the local authorities.
