• For Windows 2000/XP installations, proceed to Section 7.2 • For Cross-Platform use see section 7.3 7.1 Mac OS X (10.4) G-DRIVE Q is initialized at the factory as a single Mac OS X volume. Power on G-DRIVE, wait 10 seconds, then power on your Mac. - Page 7 G-DRIVE) Mac OS Extended as shown below. 1. Before powering down and disconnecting G-DRIVE, you must unmount the system by simply dragging the G-DRIVE Q icon to the trash located in the dock. 2. OPTIMIZING DATA TRANSFER RATES G-DRIVE Q can be connected to any Mac or PC equipped with a FireWire 400, FireWire 800, USB 2.0 or eSATA port. best performance, G-DRIVE Q should be connected via FireWire 800 or an eSATA port. Alternatively, G-DRIVE Q may be connected to a FireWire 400 or USB 2.0 port.
