Indicating the remaining battery capacity
(Fig. 3)
(Onlyforbatterycartridgeswiththeindicator)
Press the check button on the battery cartridge to indicate
the remaining battery capacity. The indicator lamps light up
forfewseconds.

NOTE:
• Dependingontheconditionsofuseandtheambient
temperature,theindicationmaydifferslightlyfromthe
actual capacity.
• Thefirst(farleft)indicatorlampwillbrinkwhenthe
battery protection system works.
Useofnon-genuineMakitabatteries,orbatteriesthathave
beenaltered,willvoidtheMakitawarrantyfortheMakita
appliance and charger.
Turning on the light and brightness mode selection
(Fig. 4)
1. S witch:Presstheswitchonce,thelightturnson(Atthe
same brightness mode as the last setting). Press the
switchagain,thelightturnsoff.
2. B rightnessmodeselection:Brightnesssequenceis:
Highmode/Lowmode/Highmodeforeachpresswhen
the light is on.
Battery protection system (Fig. 5)
Theapplianceisequippedwithabatteryprotection
systemtoextendbatterylife.Whenthebatterybecomes
low, the LED lights go out except one LED as illustrated.
Thenapproximatelyfivetotenminuteslater,thesystem
automaticallycutsoffpower.

OPERATION

CAUTION:
• Alwaysputtheapplianceonflatandstableplace.
Otherwiseafallingaccidentmayoccur.
Adjusting the angle of the light (Fig. 6)
Loosentheknobsonthebothside.Adjusttheangleofthe
light(adjustmentrangeis240°).Thentightentheknobs
again.

Charge the battery.
The battery may
havemalfunctioned.
CAUTION:
Takecarenottotrapfinger(s)whenadjustingtheangleof
the light.
Using with tripod (optional accessories)
CAUTION:
• Readcarefullytheinstructionmanualsoftheaccessories
beforeusingthemwiththelight.
Youcanputthelightonthetripodtofacilitatetheoperation.

CAUTION:
• Becarefulnottodroptheappliancewhenattachingthe
appliance on the tripod.
• Placethetripodonalevelandstablesurfacetoprevent
fromfalling.
• Spreadthelegsofthetripodtothemaximum.
• Donotusethetripodifthewindisstrong.
• Make sure that the appliance is attached securely on the
tripod.
• Remove the appliance when carrying the tripod or when
foldingthelegsofthetripod.
• Becarefulnottogetyourhandcaughtinthelegsofthe
tripod when closing the tripod.

MAINTENANCE

CAUTION:
•  A lwaysbesurethattheapplianceisswitchedoff,andthe
batterycartridgeisremovedbeforeattemptingtoperform
inspection or maintenance.
•  N everusegasoline,benzine,thinner,alcoholorthelike.
Discoloration,deformationorcracksmayresult.
Only maintenance work described in this instruction manual
maybeperformedbytheuser.Anyotherworkmustbe
carriedoutbyMakitaauthorizedservicecenters.
Cleaning
CAUTION:
• Never wash the appliance in water.
Fromtimetotimewipeofftheoutside(appliancebody)of
the appliance using a cloth dampened in soapy water.
