3.2. Before use

Before starting the machine, the operator must have read and understood all sections of
this manual, especially Chapter 2 concerning safety.
Before using the machine for the first time:
-
familiarise yourself with the controls and their functions,
-
check that all machine components subject to wear or deterioration are in good
condition,
-
check that all safety systems are working properly and covers fitted properly.
-
check the start button is in the stop position.

3.3. Connection

The machine must only be connected to a 12 Volt fully charged battery via the clips at
the end of the supplied power lead.
Connect the clips as follows:
-
connect the RED CLIP to the battery POSITIVE +
-
connect the BLACK CLIP to the battery NEGATIVE –
Before switching on, check correct connection to avoid causing irreversible damage to
the machine.
NB: Do not connect the clips to generators, car batteries, agricultural equipment or
chargers as they could generate current surges that are potentially dangerous to the
machine. Do not bring the machine in contact with water.
3.4. Use of the machine
The machine starts using a switch on the handle. Once started, bring the combs to the branch to
be shaken. Be careful of branches heavily loaded with fruit.
-
Grip the machine securely with both hands and make sure you have a good, stable
stance.
NB: Never touch the moving parts of the machine.
-
To switch the machine off, just bring the switch back to the off position.
If you do not intend to use the machine for a while, lay it flat on the ground to prevent it
accidentally falling.
Recommendations for use
-
Wear on the mechanical and electronic parts of the machine is closely linked to the
way in which the machine is used. Insistently shaking a particular branch may cause
the machine to stop as a result of mechanical overload and overheating of
components. Try to limit these halts to a minimum: this will extend the working life of
your equipment!
-
To prevent dangerous overloads that can damage the combs, it is advisable to
intersperse the shaking action with regular pauses to avoid stressing the equipment
beyond the standards for which it was designed and tested.
-
Do not use flat or damaged batteries.
