This document explains how to properly replace the ink pad
and filter for the Codonics Safe Label System
Care Station (PCS).

Caution: The ink pad and filter in the SLS will be
saturated with ink and messy to handle. Wear gloves
during this process.
1. Unload labels and remove them from the unit.
2. Properly power down the unit and unplug the power
cord.
3. Remove the rear door and set it aside.
4. Lay the unit on its left side and place a rag on the work
surface under the fan cover.

5. Use a T10 screwdriver to remove the two screws securing
the fan cover. Save the screws for step 14.
6. Carefully remove the fan cover and lay it on top of the
rag.
7. Use a rag soaked with 99% alcohol to clean the fan cover.
