CAUTION! To prevent electrical shock, make sure the shredder is disconnected from the
power source before performing any electrical repairs.

Capacitor

Typical problems that may be caused by a defective capacitor are:
o
No motor function.
The capacitor is secured to the bottom of the cabinet shelf. Two wires connect the main PC
board to the capacitor.
To replace the capacitor:
1. Disconnect the 2 wires from the capacitor. Note the color and location of these wires.
2. Remove the 2 screws that secure the capacitor to the cabinet.
3. Attach the new capacitor to the cabinet.
4. Connect the 2 wires that lead from the PC board to the capacitor.

Power Cord Receptacle

A receptacle for the power cord is located on the back of the cabinet. The receptacle is held
in place by tabs that snap into an opening on the cabinet.
To replace the power cord receptacle:
1. Disconnect the 2 power cord wires and the ground wire from the connectors on the
receptacle. Note the color and location of each wire.
2. Push the receptacle through the opening in the cabinet.
3. Push the new receptacle through the opening in the cabinet.
4. Reconnect the wires.
Note: A broken Power Cord Receptacle due consumer mis-use (machine being constantly
pushed up against a wall) will NOT be covered under the manufacturer warranty.
