• Metallic objects such as knives, forks, spoons and lids should not be placed on the coil.
• This appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate
remote-control system.
• Warning: The surrounding surfaces are liable to get hot during use.
• This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they
have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person
responsible for their safety.
• Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
BEFORE USE:
• Always ensure that the appliance is on a level surface and stable before operating.
• Before using your hot plate for the first time, ensure nothing is on the coil then turn the
appliance on to the highest setting (position 4) and let it heat up 3 to 5 minutes. This
allows the special pre-use protective coating to burn off. Note: A bit of smoke and smell is
normal.
DAILY USE:
1. Turn temperature controller between 2 and 5 and adjust during use as needed.
2. The indicator light on the appliance will turn on when the unit is heating.
3. The indicator light on the appliance will turn off when it reaches the selected temperature.
4. When not in use, be sure to turn the dial to OFF and disconnect from the power outlet.
5. Acceptable materials on the coil include stainless steel, aluminum and ceramic. NOT
GLASS. Cooking pots or pans that have flat base are also completely acceptable.
6. The diameter of the pan base needs to be smaller than the diameter of the coil.
7. Do not use with any base that is convex, concave or uneven.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Please ensure appliance is disconnected from the power supply and switched off before
attempting any cleaning. If the appliance has been used, please allow a sufficient time for the
appliance to cool down before cleaning.
Cleaning/Wiping down of the unit should only be attempted with a lightly damp soapy cloth.
After cleaning and wiping down with the soapy cloth, dry it down by wiping over with a
paper towel. Do not use abrasive cleaning materials.
