SOFTWARE UPDATING PROCEDURE

The HX3 sound engine installed inside MAG organs routinely receives software updates to improve
its sound generation and functionality, and this is a great opportunity to keep the organ updated
with the latest features and sound quality. Each new version of software needs to be fully tested on
our systems, and we typically release our specific version when the beta phase has been terminated.
While it is possible, with a certain level of competence, to install the latest beta version made
available by KeyboardPartner, we do not suggest it and point out that if the user does this, any
malfunction or need for reprogramming the board will not be covered by the warranty. The latest
tested software version with specific updating instructions will be available in the download section
of the MAG Organs website.
Safety note: Updating the software of the HX3 board accesses the software and the firmware of the
board itself in normally non-user-accessible locations. It is not rocket science, but when performing
this operation, be sure to have a quiet environment and avoid any possible disturbance so as to be
able to follow the procedure in the suggested way.
Be sure also to have stable power for the computer and the organ (for instance, avoid doing it during
thunderstorms): an electrical blackout during the operation may brick the board and require a
complete reprogramming to be done at the manufacturer or may even cause unrecoverable damage
to the main board itself, and neither of these events will be covered by the warranty.
