4.4.3 The outline from setting up to adjusting of down converter

The following explains the outline from setting up to adjusting of down converter, when using PDP-V402 plasma
display manufactured by our company.
Start
Open the section titled ''Before using
the down converter.''
Mount the cable strap
Mount the down converter on the rear
panel of the plasma display.
Connect the cables and the AC adapter.
Carry out the styling of the cables.
Turn ON the power for the input signal
source (including PC), the plasma
display and the down converter.
Input the FULL WHITE signal, and carry
out the aging (for about 10 minutes).
Adjust [CLK.FRQ.], [CLK. PHS.], [HOR.
POS.] and [VER.POS.] of the plasma
display, while displaying the DOWN
CONVERTER test pattern.
Input a signal, which is identical to that
of the down converter test pattern, at
the same resolution and frequency for
an actual image to be used.
How to mount standard optional items (PDA-4003)
See the section titled ''Before using this down converter'' in Page 71.
See the section titled ''How to use a cable strap'' in Page 74.
Note) If it has already been mounted, there is no need for this work.
See the section titled ''Mounting on the plasma display'' in Page 72.
See ''Connection'' in Page 76 and ''Connecting the power supply cord''
in Page 76 as well as ''How to mount the AC adapter'' in Page 73.
See the section titled ''On styling of the cables'' for your reference in
Page 75.
Note) Turn the input function of the plasma display to ''RGB2.''
Note) During this time, pay careful attention to prevent any image burn-
in. (Be careful not to keep transmitting the OSD signal or enter
any signals other than the FULL WHITE signal, etc. because
such actions may cause an image burnt-in)
See Steps 1 to 5 of the section titled ''Operating a down converter''
in Page 78, 79.
Knacks for adjustment:
• Adjust in order of [CLK.FRQ.] to [HOR.PDS.] or [VER.POS.] to
[CLK.PHS.].
• When adjusting [CLK.PHS.], try to minimize a transverse flicker
and a color shift on the screen (there may be a chance that they
cannot be completely adjusted).
Note) The down converter can store 10 different adjusted values in
memory. When the eleventh signal is input, it will overwrite on
the first signal.
Whenever any resolution and frequency of the input signal for
the down converter are changed, it is necessary to adjust the
resolution and frequency, respectively.
