    SAFETY & WARNINGS General power tool safety warnings Work area safety Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered and dark areas invite accidents. The correct power tool will do the job better and safer at the rate for which it was designed. Do not use the power tool if the switch does not turn it on and off. Any power tool that cannot be controlled with the switch is dangerous and must be repaired.

  • Page 7 Tips for maintaining battery life Charge the battery pack before completely discharged. Always stop tool operation and charge the battery pack when you notice a decrease in tool power. Never over-discharge a fully charged battery pack. Over discharging shortens the battery service life.

With the saw running, keep all parts of the body away from the saw chain. Before starting the saw, make sure that the saw chain does not touch anything.

  • Page 18 Tips for tensioning the chain: • The saw chain must be correctly tensioned to ensure safe operation. You will see the optimum tension when the saw chain can be lifted by 3-4mm in the middle of the sword. • Since the saw chain heats up as a result of sawing and changes its length as a result, check the chain tension every 10 minutes and adjust it if necessary.

    OPERATION Removing and Inserting the battery • Batteries must be used to operate the saw. (Fig. 10a) • To remove the battery from the device, press the unlock button on the battery and remove the battery. • To insert the battery, slide the battery into the device along the guide rail. You will hear it click into place.
  • Page 20 Checking the state of charge of the battery Press the button on the battery, the number of lit LEDs indicates the charge status of the battery: All LEDs light up: The battery is fully charged. 1 LED lights up: Battery is empty, please charge. Used batteries: A significantly shortened operating time despite charging indicates that the battery is exhausted and must be replaced.
  • Page 21 Pull the front handguard back until it engages to release the chain brake. WARNING: Do not use the saw if the guards do not function properly. Do not attempt to repair safety guards yourself; contact Kogan.com. Hand protection: The front handguard (activating the chain brake) and the rear handguard protect the fingers against injuries caused by contact with the saw chain if it breaks due to overloading.

Hearing protection and safety glasses Wear a protective helmet with integrated hearing and face protection during felling and forest work. This protects from falling branches and branches.     CLEANING & CARE Replace saw chain and guide bar: The guide bar must be replaced when the guide groove of the guide bar is worn out, or the spur gear in the sword is damaged or worn. Proceed as described in chapter “Mounting the guide bar and saw chain”. Check the automatic chain lubrication.
