Keep your feet away from the mower deck when adjusting its height. When shipped, the rear wheels on the mower are set to a low-cutting position.

    OPERATION WARNING Do not allow familiarity with this type of product to make you careless. Remember that a careless fraction of a second is sufficient to inflict serious injury. WARNING Always wear safety goggles or safety glasses with side shields when operating this product. Failure to do so could result in objects being thrown into your eyes, resulting in possible serious injury.

Such objects could be accidentally thrown by the mower in any direction and cause serious personal injury to the operator and others.
  • Page 20 OPERATION MOWING ON A SLOPE (See Fig. 12) ■ Slopes are a major factor related to slip and fall accidents that can result in severe injury. Mowing on slopes requires extra caution. If you feel uneasy on a slope, do not mow it. For your safety, do not attempt to mow slopes greater than 15 degrees.

    MAINTENANCE WARNING When servicing, use only identical replacement parts. Use of any other parts may create a hazard or cause product damage. WARNING Always wear safety goggles or safety glasses with side shields during power tool operation or when blowing dust. If operation is dusty, also wear a dust mask. GENERAL MAINTENANCE Avoid using solvents when cleaning plastic parts.
