Principle of operation

Application area
SITRANS LR140 is a radar transmitter for non-contact, continuous level
measurement. It is suitable for liquids and solids in practically all industries.
Functional principle
The transmitter emits a continuous, frequency-modulated radar signal through its
antenna. The emitted signal is reflected by the medium and received by the antenna
as an echo with modified frequency. The frequency change is proportional to the
distance and is converted into the level.
