11. Close the rack door at the rear of the system.
12. Choose from the following options:
• If you completed the procedure with the system power turned off, continue with step "13" on page
45.
• If you are using the AIX operating system, continue with step "14" on page 45.
• If you are using the IBM i operating system, continue with step "16" on page 46.
• If you are using the Linux operating system, continue with step "20" on page 47.
13. To prepare the system for operation when the system is powered off, complete the following steps:
a) Start the system. For instructions, see Starting a system (www.ibm.com/support/
knowledgecenter/POWER9/p9haj/crustartsys.htm).
b) Continue with step "21" on page 47.
14. If you are using the AIX operating system, complete the following steps to configure the adapter:
a) Press the F3 key to return to the Task Selection list.
b) Select Log Repair Action.
c) Select the resource that was replaced and select Commit.
d) Press the F3 key to return to Task Selection List.
e) Select Hot Plug Task > PCI Hot Plug Manager > Configure a defined device.
