Send the Blackbox Clock Signal to External Devices

Blackbox sends out a MIDI clock signal through the TRS MIDI output. If you are using the TRS MIDI port, be sure to
check TRS Mini-jack compatibility. See Pin Mapping for Mini TRS Jack to MIDI 5 Pin DIN Connectors below for more
information about compatibility.
Blackbox sends an analog pulse clock through the Clock Out port. It sends a clock pulse signal with 4 pulses per
quarter (PPQs), or a pulse per 16

Reset the Clock

You can use the following methods to reset the clock counter back to 1:1:
Press Play.
Stop the Clock input for a few seconds and then restart it.
Receive MIDI play and MIDI clock signal.

Powering MIDI Devices

When you are using an external USB MIDI device with blackbox, you will need to
ensure you have an adequate power supply to drive both blackbox and the MIDI
device. Use the provided USB power cable with one of the following to ensure
adequate power:
The power supply provided to plug blackbox into a standard power outlet
A power adapter that delivers at least 2 amps at 5 volts. Newer iPad adapters
will work.
The following power sources may not reliably provide sufficient power to support
blackbox plus a MIDI device:
An iPhone adapter
A laptop or computer USB connection
Any adapter that supports under 1 amp
If you need to use one of these lower power sources for blackbox, you may be able to use a separate power
supply to power the MIDI device. If the power supplied is insufficient, the MIDI controller may not power up and
blackbox may have unreliable behavior.
