Configuring the ADSL interface using the CLI
Description
Select the PPP authentication method
for this interface.
• Enter auto to select authentication
method automatically
• Enter chap for CHAP
• Enter mschapv1 for Microsoft CHAP
v1
• Enter mschapv2 for Microsoft CHAP
v2
• Enter pap for PAP
This is available only when mode is
pppoe, and type of interface is
physical.
Enable to retrieve a default gateway IP
address from a PPPoE or PPPoA server.
The default gateway is added to the
static routing table.
Set the initial discovery timeout in
seconds. The time to wait before retrying
to start a PPPoE discovery. Set
disc-retry-timeout to 0 to disable.
mode must be set to pppoe or pppoa.
Configure the administrative distance for
routes learned through PPPoE, PPPoA
or DHCP. Using administrative distance
you can specify the relative priorities of
different routes to the same destination.
A lower administrative distance indicates
a more preferred route. Distance can be
an integer from 1-255.
mode must be set to dhcp, pppoe or
pppoa for this keyword to be available.
Enable to allow the interface to use DNS
server addresses it acquired via DHCP
PPPoA or PPPoe.

Enter the IP address of the gateway for
this interface.
Enable or disable confirming connectivity
with the server at the detectserver IP
address.
Disconnect if the PPPoE or PPPoA
connection is idle for the specified
number of seconds. Set to zero to
disable this feature.
Enter the interface IP address and
netmask.
This only available if mode is set to ipoa
or eoa. You can set the IP and netmask,
but it will not display.
The IP address cannot be on the same
subnet as any other interface.
