6. Battery installation (Models DG66M-B62 and DG67M-B62 only)
Outlined below are the instructions for initially installing the battery into your generator and for replacing
the battery:
Installing the battery into your generator:
When you remove your generator from the box, the battery will already be installed in the battery
tray and the positive terminal will be attached to the generator (i.e. the battery cable with the red
safety cover).
Use the 8/10 wrench to attach the ground cable (i.e. the negative terminal has a black safety
cover) to the generator.
Replacing the battery into your generator:
1. Use the 8/10 wrench to remove the ground (-) terminal (i.e. the battery cable with black safety
cover) from the battery.
2. Use the 8/10 wrench to remove the positive (+) terminal (i.e. the battery cable with the red
safety cover) from the battery.
3. Unscrew both bolts to remove the safety bar that holds the battery in place.
4. Remove the battery.
5. Place the new battery in the battery tray. Confirm that the positive (+) terminal is on the left-
hand side.
6. Attached the safety bar and fasten bolts to lock battery into place.
7. Use the 8/10 wrench to reattach the positive (+) terminal (i.e. the battery cable with the red
safety cover) to the battery.
8. Use the 8/10 wrench to reattach the negative (-) terminal (i.e. the battery cable with the black
safety cover) to the battery.
9. When you're done, it will look like this:
