Cutting wheel
Problem
Frayed edges or tears, cut wanders out
of line, increased wear at the sides of the
segments
Frayed edges, cut wanders out of line,
little or no cutting performance, sparking
Poor cutting performance, high level of
segment wear
Chipping or cracking in the wheel core
and segments
Undercutting
1)
STIHL recommends that a STIHL
servicing dealer be consulted.

Cause
Radial or axial run-out
Cutting wheel wobbles
Cutting wheel is blunt; built-up edges on
cutting wheels for stone
Cutting wheel rotates in the wrong direction Mount the cutting wheel with correct
Overload
Cutting in a material for which the wheel is
not rated
Remedy
1)
Consult a dealer
Use a new cutting wheel
Dress the cutting wheel for stone by
briefly cutting in abrasive material; use a
new cutting wheel for cutting asphalt
direction of rotation
Replace immediately with a new cutting
wheel
Use a new cutting wheel; note the
different cutting layers in different
materials
