  • Page 6 SAFETY INFORMATION • Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning the power tool on. A wrench or a key left attached to a rotating part of the power tool may result in personal injury. • Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. This enables better control of the power tool in unexpected situations.
  • Page 7 SAFETY INFORMATION • When battery pack is not in use, keep it away from other metal objects, like paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws or other small metal objects, that can make a connection from one terminal to another. Shorting the battery terminals together may cause burns or a fire.

As appropriate, wear dust mask, hearing protectors, gloves and workshop apron capable of stopping small abrasive or workpiece fragments.     SAFETY INFORMATION • Do not attach a saw chain woodcarving blade or toothed saw blade. Such blades create frequent kickback and loss of control. Safety Warnings Specific for Polishing Operations: • Do not allow any loose portion of the polishing bonnet or its attachment strings to spin freely.

    OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS 1. To Attach Battery Pack a. Align the raised portion on the battery pack with the grooves on the bottom of the tool, then slide the battery pack onto the tool, as shown. Battery-release b. Make sure that the latches on the battery pack button snap into place and the battery pack is secured to the tool before beginning operation.
  • Page 11 OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS 3. Variable-Speed Dial Adjust the polishing speed with the variable-speed dial (D). Turn the dial to any position between “1” for the lowest speed and “5” for the highest speed. WARNING • Never change the speed while the tool is running.

The condition of the surface to be polished will determine which grit and type will do the job. Start on a test sample of the workpiece. a.

    NOTE: Use correct size accessories. To reduce the risk of injury, use only accessories rated at least equal to the maximum speed marked on the tool. Kobalt #KPOBP 124-03 base plate, #KPOPP 3ASST-03 polishing pads are recommended.

Generalmente, el grano grueso elimina la mayor cantidad de material y el grano más fino produce el mejor acabado en todas las operaciones de pulido.
