The Alcatel-Lucent 3 Port PoE (Power over Ethernet) Gigabit Adapter (referred to as the
Alcatel-Lucent PoE GA from now on) transmits electrical power and data to the Alcatel-Lucent
8 Series Phones over standard twisted-pair cables in an Ethernet network.
It is an Ethernet switch that allows gigabit network access for a PC that is associated with a
series 8 phone without modifying the existing Ethernet infrastructure. The aim is to provide a
separate 1 GB connection for the PC. This feature is not possible if the PC is connected
through the IP phone.
The Alcatel-Lucent PoE GA can draw power over the Ethernet (PoE), or locally using an
adaptor.
The Alcatel-Lucent PoE GA provides:
-
one 10/100/1000BASE-T upstream LAN Port,
-
one 10/100BASE-T downstream device port for phone,
-
one 10/100/1000BASE-T downstream device port for PC,
-
power for the phone that is connected to the phone port.

Restriction
The Alcatel-Lucent PoE GA is guaranteed to work with Alcatel-Lucent Series 8 Phones only.
