ABNORMAL OPERATION
The engine does not start

PROBABLE CAUSE
Fuel tank empty
Throttle regulation lever not at choke with cold engine Set throttle regulation lever to choke
Badly connected spark plug cap
Fuel pipe blocked
Air has penetrated the engine because the carburettor
is loose
Petrol valve closed
The engine is receiving too much fuel
Air filter clogged
The engine is running with the choke on
Ignition cable loose

REMEDY
Fill with petrol
Connect the spark plug cap

Tighten the fixing screws

Allow the engine to cool and carefully connect the
spark plug lead
Clean the air filter
Replace the fuel tank cap
Have the fuel pipe cleaned by a specialist workshop
Have the carburettor adjusted by a specialist workshop
Have the gap set by a specialist workshop
Have the carburettor adjusted by a specialist work-
shop
Top up with engine oil
Have the fan grille and cooling fins cleaned by a spe-
cialist workshop
